Rose spirit (or decorators’ alcohol) contains 95% alcohol and 1% rose essence, which compares to an average of 40% alcohol in standard vodka. This is an important fact, because rose spirit is often used to create an edible paint for cookies, cakes and more so the speed in which it evaporates is paramount.
Rose spirit will give you superior drying time for your edible painting and is far superior to vodka in creating a smooth, opaque, high performing edible paint. We mix ours with Rolkem dusts for the best results.
As an added benefit, rose spirit can be a handy tool to have to wipe away unwanted cornflower stains on your fondant decorations.
