George's last biscuit run...
•Posted on November 24 2020

Marcus and I, together with Leslie and her husband, travelled to George's funeral on Monday. It was a beautiful service, full of memories of George's fun-loving personality and his many talents and interests.
Margaret was truly touched by the messages that had been sent in from long-term customers and friends over the past week. Thank you to everyone who made the time to come into the store and pass on your condolences, or who sent in an email or message with your sentiments. I know Margaret will treasure your memories of George.
George's family had asked us to make biscuits to give out at the funeral in memory of George's famous "biscuit run". The biscuit run was an annual bike ride that George and Margaret used to attend with their BMW motorcycle club, named as such for the BMW themed bikkies Margaret baked for all who attended.
So, last Saturday after we closed the store, our team sat down to say 'cheers' to George for bringing us together and spent a few hours making the biscuits for George's last biscuit run. It was a beautiful way to celebrate him.

On the drive home, Marcus and I stopped to appreciate the huge fields of sunflowers growing on the side of the road on the way to Warwick. A reminder of life's simple beauty and how we should appreciate each day as it comes.
